Welcome to our new site. Hopefully, this will serve as a tool for members of Westside to dialogue with one another throughout the week as we seek to faithfully study, serve and live out the word of God.
The gospel of Mark has proven to be a rich resource for us as we've thought about discipleship, Jesus and the power of God working in the present tense. It is exciting to see where these words of God will lead us over the next few months as we look to the second half of this powerful gospel. We are working through this gospel on Sunday mornings during our worship hour and we are also following this gospel in our adult auditorium bible study which begins at 9:30 am (shameless pitch). Feel free to follow along with the conversation and take part in it if/when you want to.
The gospel of Mark is an exciting Word that will help shape and form us into the people that God wants us to be. Follow along as we mark these words and allow them to transform us as a community of Christ followers.
Raise your hands if you're excited! Since that doesn't make much sense, given we can't see you at home sitting at your computer (which you are probably grateful for since you are still in your pajamas) practice posting something in the comments blog. Here's a practice promp not totally dissimilar to some we will see in the future.
What do you hope to find/get out of this study?
Do you think we should go ahead and name the Westside praise team, "Josh Stump and the PT Cruisers?" Why or why not?
Peace,
Aaron
First, this looks good. Sounds like fun!
ReplyDeleteSecond, what do I hope to get out of this? Hmmm... perhaps we'll better understand or get a glimpse of how God is working in the world around us (outside the doors of our church building).
Third, and finally, "Josh Stump and the PT Cruisers" isn't the worst idea you've had, but it's nearly the most disturbing. You are so bizarre.
Nothing to say right now, just glad for this format as I am so timid in class.
ReplyDeleteMore later.
